Primary Research: Photo References

For my research, I decided to take some photographs of an Airsoft M24 Rifle, so I could look at the construction and functionality of the gun. Doing this will enable me to understand the proportions and details I will need to take into account when I model my own guns later on.

Look at the gun from this perspective, I can see the lengths in which everything is matched up too. For example the length of the stock is almost as long as the grip. The barrel is about half the size of the grip and the scope almost the entire length of the grip.

From this perspective I can see how the contours of the gun are structure based on the functionality of the weapon. For Example, the grip is smoothed and the adequate size for a hand to comfortably maneuver, depending on the shooting position.

This perspective is also the same as above, however looking at a different view.

Here shows the trigger of the gun into relation with the stock and handle. We can see how  the scope fixes to the rifle via the top rail, with the use of small screws. Also, we can see how the rifle's bolt action function is utilized. The inner chamber is exposed because of a small opening in the barrel. The bolt handle is also sculpted in a way suited for the shooter to comfortably grip it.

Here is the scope detached from the rifle. It shows the two different sizes at either end of the scope, including the dials for distance and focus. We can also see a compartment for a battery which would enable cross hair lighting within the scope, alongside the two brackets that fasten together via screws, which all connect to the the top rail on the rifle itself

Here is the rifle without the scope just to get an idea of the width of the main compartments. Also full view of the top rail that isn't excluded because of the sight.
